We have visited here for the last two years and had a great golfing holiday . Generally this is quieter then other regions of Spain but there are some great courses in the area and being the home of Sherry it goes without saying that the food and drink are exceptional.
We have stayed in the regions capital Jerez where there are some really good quality hotels and of course a trip to one of the many Bodegas is almost mandatory . Not as “ brassy “ as the Costa del Sol for those seeking golf , good food and the chance to discover what the “real “ Spain is like this is the place to visit . We also offer some unusual and original Hotels in the Coastal resort of El Puerto de Santa Maria in the Cadiz region which offers excellent beaches and all the amenities that you could want from a holiday destination.
The golf courses are a little more spread out so a car is essential and we normally supply an estate car in our packages which is sufficient to carry 4 golfers and their equipment. There are now 22 courses in the region and that includes 4 exceptional ones in Montecastillo , Sherry Golf . Montenmedio and the newest gem in Southern Spain - Arcos Gardens . As well as these there are some other very good resort type courses at remarkably good prices especially when compared to the rest of Spain and Portugal .
Overalll this is a great area for golf and I really dont understand why it isnt more popular . I realise its not the easiest destination to get to but there are low cost flights to Jerez and its only 2 to 3 hours from Malaga Airport so If you want really good golf at reasonable prices this is the place to go .
