Originally designed by William Mitchell back in 1978, the Quinta Do Lago North course was then updated in 1989 when two American course designers Joseph Lee and Rocky Roquemore joined forces to create holes 6 to 14. This includes the spectacular 12th hole featuring a three-acre lake where you are required to play around it in a typical dog leg fashion.
The terrain is excellent, quite sandy and dotted with umbrella pines. This 6,776-yard course has recently undergone a massive re-development with new greens, tees, bunkers, irrigation and drainage systems with the help of state-of-the-art technology. In order to accommodate golfers of all handicap levels on their golf break, there are now four different tees to choose from.
Quinta Do Lago North is a superb challenge to golfers of all handicap levels. The surrounding environment of natural woodland, pine trees, and hazards make this a fascinating course to play on with plenty of obstacles to think about.
Beyond the golf, there is a range of facilities at Quinta Do Lago North including the impressive clubhouse, which features changing rooms with showers and lockers, a practice area, and also the opportunity to hire buggies, golf trolleys, and power caddies.
